A Garner Road alum, Coach Graves believes in success by celebrating the tradition of the Club and encouraging all players to achieve their optimum ability. Coach Graves believes, “You cannot force your purpose but you can be ready for your opportunity.” Coach Graves is a 2 time All American in Football at University of Delaware. He currently serves as High Varsity Basketball Coach at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. Coach Graves has great plans for the club and looks to build upon the rich legacy and tradition.

Trevor West

2019 - 2021

A Garner Road alum, Coach Trevor introduced a hands-on approach that brought the players closer to the coaches beyond practices and games. Coach Trevor’s passion led him overseas as a player/coach. Coach West played at Averett University in Danville, Virginia and was a four-year starter. He finished his career with 1,028 points (ranking 11th all-time in program history).

2000 - 2019

Recognized throughout the state and nation for the success of the club, Coach West ushered Garner Road Basketball Club to become one of the top AAU programs in the nation. Under his leadership over 200 athletes have earned college scholarships and over 15 players have played professional. Coach West is lauded throughout the amateur ranks due to his knowledge and experience. Coach West coined the theme “BUILT BY DESIGN” and solidified the clubs place in the AAU space. He was inducted into the Jersey City State College (New Jersey City University) Hall of Fame in 1994. Coach West was also inducted into the AAU Hall of Fame in 2018. With over 20 years of experience Dwayne still aids the club with recruitment.

Founder of the Garner Road Basketball in 1990. Under his leadership the program grew from one to over 20 teams becoming one of the largest organizations in the country. Coach Hanks’ impact has changed the lives of numerous young people from the southside of Raleigh and rural parts of North Carolina. Coach Hank coined the club moniker, “Your tomorrow is right now”. Coach Hank is currently an assistant coach at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
